+ FREE THE WORK

TARGET

The Free The Work communities in NYC and LA, including underrepresented filmmakers, photographers, directors and other creatives.

GOAL

Provide a platform for the Free The Work organization to amplify and celebrate their work, support their community and attract more members.

PROGRAM

  • COLLiDE connected Dr. Martens with Free the Work to collaborate on a film about the organization’s mission to elevate and provide opportunity for underrepresented filmmakers.

  • COLLiDE produced premiere events and hosted panel discussions with the filmmakers and Free The Work representatives at LA and NYC-based Dr. Martens retail locations.

  • Tolliver, Saturn Risin9, Eli Fola and Cakes Da Killa, who had all been featured in previous Dr. Martens Presents films, also performed at the events. 

 

SUMMARY

  • Nearly 200 current and potential members of the Free The Work community attended each event.

  • Free the Work filmmakers have continued to enjoy opportunities working on additional Dr. Martens projects.

  • The events helped Free The Work connect with and recruit new creatives into its community.
