WILD WILD WEST LEAGUE





TARGET:
Sports fans in the Portland metropolitan area and others yearning for a sense of normalcy during a pandemic.
GOAL:
Due to the COVID pandemic, America’s Favorite Pastime was canceled for most everyone across the country. The Portland Pickles organization set out to raise the spirits of their community by creating the only live sports experience in the Portland area and one of the only baseball leagues in the USA during Summer 2020.
PROGRAM:
Formed a brand new 4 team wood-bat baseball league consisting of 29 games in 28 days
Created and implemented an extensive safety plan for all individuals involved
Provided the only opportunity for collegiate baseball players to showcase their talents in the Pacific NW
Broadcasted free state-of-the-art livestream of all 29 games on Facebook Live, YouTube Live, and Twitter Live
Worked with local artists to create limited edition posters and merchandise
Allowed up to 200 fans to safely attend each game
RESULT:
Over 4,000 individuals got to witness live baseball in person
The livestreams received over 3 Million Total Impressions across social and digital properties
Overwhelming press coverage by Forbes, The Oregonian, OPB, The Columbian, Portland Monthly, and others
